 Through The Eyes of Survivors

This workshop will be led by the Holocaust Museum and Tolerance Center (HMTC) facilitators, Meryl Menashe, Donna Rosenblum, and Dinah Kramer. Each of these educators bring years of experience and commitment to Holocaust education. They have led numerous programs and workshops that address the dangers of anti-Semitism, intolerance, and racism while advocating for respect and understanding. This workshop will examine narratives and histories of Holocaust survivors followed by a sharing of curriculum resources that can help teachers explore the themes of identity, inclusion, and belonging, There will be an opportunity to engage in guided writing prompts and conversation. This is an in-person workshop, held at Nassau Community College from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm. To register for the workshop, please click the link:

This workshop is part of the LIWP's 2022-2023 grant work, funded by the National Writing Project and the National Endowment for the Humanities. This initiative is a collaboration between the Long Island Writing Project and The Holocaust Museum and Tolerance Center as well as the Anti-Racism Project. The central goal is to create a year-long professional development project with a multitude of programming events with local communities that explore the immigrant experience and our shared history. We invite educators to join us in these important conversations. Please spread the word to friends and colleagues!
