 Be a Changemaker: Your Right to Petition the Government:

To commemorate Constitution Day, we invite students across the SUNY and the Massachusetts Public Higher Ed systems to Zoom-meet with elected officials and civic leaders to learn how to advocate for issues they care about. With the next presidential election year on the horizon, our vote and our voices count!

Schedule: Four sessions - come to whatever your schedule allows. Same Zoom link for all sessions. Registration is required. *Session 1: Keynote: Massachusetts State Rep. Natalie Higgins - 10-11:15 “From Student to State Rep: My Advocacy Journey”

*Session 2: Advocacy Panel - 11:30-12:45 (Hybrid: CCB-251 and on Zoom; refreshments served) – Q & A with NY advocates across party lines

*Session 3: Hands-on Advocacy Workshop - 1:00 - 2:15 – Students work in break-outs with facilitators to explore advocacy strategies

*Session 4: Voter Registration Rush - 2:30 - 3:45 (Hybrid: CCB-251 and on Zoom) – Students can get help registering to vote online or in person Register in advance for this event:
